‘Cant del Barça’ is the official FC Barcelona anthem. It was first performed on 27 November 1974 as part of the club’s 75th anniversary celebrations. The lyrics were written by Josep Maria Espinàs and Jaume Picas, and the melody was composed by Manuel Valls.

Ronaldinho makes a surprise visit

Everyone has a best friend for whom the door is always open, invariably inviting them to pop in unexpectedly.
For FC Barcelona, that friend is Ronaldinho.
On the day Barça returned to training to begin readying for Saturday’s Copa del Rey final, the former Barça superstar made an unannounced visit to the team’s training facility, where could be found out on the field, chatting with the many players and coaches he has maintained friendships with over the years.
«It’s always good to meet up with great friends,» he said. «It’s a huge pleasure.»
The former blaugrana striker, who won the 2005 Ballon d’Or, wore his habitual ear-to-ear smile as he exchanged high-fives and posed for pictures with the likes Lionel Messi and fellow Brazilian Neymar Jr., among others.

Ronaldinho Gaúcho ha visitado este miércoles las instalaciones del FC Barcelona y ha presenciado en directo el entrenamiento de los hombres de Luis Enrique. El actual embajador del Club ha declarado para los micrófonos de Barça TV que «siempre es bueno encontrarse con grandes amigos y grandes jugadores, es un placer muy grande». Además, Ronaldinho también ha hablado y se ha fotografiado con Leo Messi, con quien coincidió durante su etapa como jugador del primer equipo, y también con Neymar jr, con quien llegó a coincidir en la selección brasileña.

Ronaldinho aproveitou para rever – entre outros – o seu velho amigo Leo Messi e o compatriota Neymar Jr. “Sempre é bom encontrar grandes amigos, grandes jogadores”, declarou. “É sempre um prazer estar com eles”, acrescentou.

Where to buy Barcleona football shirts. A.k.a. Barça football kits. In the Street.

One thing to keep in mind is that local people don’t wear soccer/football jerseys unless they are physically on the way to the stadium to see a game.

I used to wear a Barça jersey and people would ask me if I was going to the game. They were surprised to see me casually wearing a Barça jersey.

Another thing is that if you buy a retro Barça jersey before about 2005 (the Ronaldinho era), they don’t have advertising.

The African street vendors sell Barça jerseys for a third the cost with the same quality. There are pros and cons about buying from them. Here’s a video about street vendors in Barcelona:

Now if you’re trying to buy something for a picky teenager here are some of the “official stores” that I know of:

FC Barcelona Official Store Ronda Universitat at the corner of Plaza Catalonia

FC Barcelona Official Store in Las Arenas shopping center at Plaza España
FC Barcelona Official Store Avinguda del Paral·lel  near Poble Sec

They play soccer/football from September to about June. It’s the local religion. There is often a summer competition like the World Cup that follows. They play the games maybe three times a week like the NBA.

I’ve read an estimation that some of the players run a 10k during the game. Imagine the physique of a marathon runner. It’s a great sport for kids.
